BMW i8 Concept Spyder

As if the upcoming BMW i8 plug-in sports car wasn't already desirable enough, BMW has decided to subtract a roof from the equation. Officially dubbed the BMW i8 Concept Spyder, it actually manages to change quite a bit more about the upcoming coupe in comparison to its covered counterpart.

What's changed specifically? First, there's the dimensions. The BMW i8 Concept Spyder is shorter than its production-bound sibling. It also features a shorter wheel base. The translucent glass doors from the original model are gone too - replaced by ones made of the same opaque thermoplastic that's utilized in the rest of the plug-in sports car's body.

Upon taking a seat inside the cabin of the i8 Concept Spyder, things continue to change. The interior is more down to earth than its coupe counterpart. It features center console is more conservative in its style, with features like climate control being utilized by actual buttons.

The BMW i8 Concept Spyder features the same daring engine/motor combination as the original.
