BMW’s 2016 750i Sedan: A Tranquil Ride in a Technology-Laden Rocket Ship, Says NY Times
Driving enthusiasts who also enjoy being chauffeured from time to time will find the new 2016 BMW 750i xDrive offers equal pleasures in that regard, suggests The New York Times in a recent review.
The 750i has been completely refreshed for 2016, from the engine to the interior. Powering the Bavarian automaker’s flagship is an available 4.4-liter eight-cylinder engine with two twin-scroll turbos that gets the luxury sedan to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. An eight-speed transmission taps into the onboard GPS to anticipate shift dynamics, making acceleration and slowing so smooth it is virtually undetectable from inside the cockpit.
BMW technology dazzles as usual, and in this case, provides intelligent amenity control to driver and passenger alike in nearly every aspect of the vehicle’s operation. The “Executive Seating” package, for example, provides backseat passengers with a removable Samsung tablet that controls entertainment and iDrive features.
