New BMW 5 Series Takes Home Design Award in Detroit
Yesterday, at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the all-new 7th generation BMW 5 Series kicked off the new year on high note, winning the prestigious EyesOn Design award for Best Designed User Experience. As the officially-sanctioned design awards for the NAIAS, the EyesOn Design Awards honor the best concept and production vehicles making their worldwide auto show debuts in Detroit.
Technologies such as the iDrive 6.0 user interface, BMW Gesture Control, and the latest generation of Head-Up Display mark a new era of personalized connectivity. Furthermore, the BMW 5 Series delivers Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that “clear the way towards semi-automated driving.”
“BMW has long been a pioneer in advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technologies and the new 5 Series brings together everything we have learned in our 100 year history,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America. “It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award from EyesOnDesign for the Best Designed User Experience on the all-new BMW 5 Series.”
The most innovative 5-Series ever is scheduled to roll into dealerships across the country in February.
